The planning committee for the Founder’s Ball, benefitting the Sugar Land Cultural Arts Foundation (SLCAF), is enthusiastically working on various, unique auction items plus sponsorships for this iconic event which takes place on January 7, 2012 at Safari Texas Ranch at 6:30pm. The theme is “Taking the Stage!”

SLCAF is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that exists to promote the cultural, performing, and visual arts in Sugar Land while preserving, renovating and restoring the  historic Sugar Land Auditorium to the thriving  cultural arts center it once was in the community. Continue reading

Grand Opening and Future Programming

SLCAF Planning Grand Opening and Future Programming for Sugar Land’s Historic Auditorium

Standing majestically at the corner of Lakeview Drive and Wood Street, is the oldest public building in Sugar Land.  Designed by Imperial Sugar Company in 1918, the beautiful auditorium, which received a historical marker in 1993, once served as the site for silent movies, graduations, plays, church services, dances, recitals, band concerts, and many other community events. 8th Annual Founders’ Ball Offers Fantastic Live Auction Packages!

County Commissioner James Patterson and Pappas Grill Steakhouse Managers Jason Egan and Codi Williams-Garcia have put together an exceptional live auction package for the upcoming Founders’ Ball benefiting Sugar Land Cultural Arts Foundation. Pappas’ Executive Chef Michael Gaspard will prepare a five-course wine dinner for ten. All courses will be paired with wine specially selected from Harris Pappas’ own private collection (made exclusively for him by Harlan Estates). In addition to putting together the live auction package, the Commissioner is the auctioneer for the evening as well as part of the featured entertainment with many other local celebrities.
